The Plant Corner is a mother and daughter business based in Johannesburg, South Africa, but our story began long before that.
Growing up, we spent our childhood surrounded by nature. Living on the outskirts of Inverness, Scotland, the outdoors wasn't somewhere we visited, it was home. While others admired flowers or walked past plants without a second thought, we were fascinated by them. We wanted to understand them, care for them and learn from them.
That curiosity never left us.
Everything we know has been built through years of self-teaching, trial and error, and a genuine love for plants. It wasn't something we studied, it was something we lived.
Over the years, we've moved homes more times than we can count. Some chapters were exciting, others far more difficult. But no matter where life took us, there was always one thing that made an unfamiliar house feel like home.
Plants.
They have a quiet way of transforming a space. They soften a room, bring a sense of calm and remind us to slow down. They're living, breathing companions that ask for very little, yet give so much in return. To us, they've always been more than décor, they've been comfort, healing and a connection to nature.
